Wolf Morrison was born on the 4^th of May 1977 in Melk in Lower Austria. After Business School and some office jobs he never really liked Wolf moved to Vienna in 2003 to become an artist. He took acting lessons to overcome his shyness. Years before he had learned playing Guitar and Keyboard.

 

In 2005 Wolf Morrison had his first real stage appearances, as a Comedian with his program “Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Brain rules America” (which he played until 2007) and as a Singer/Songwriter with his own songs.

 

In the same year Wolf met Writer/Director Wolfgang Brandstetter who offered him a small role in his Independent Film “Winter” and in an unreleased TV Pilot later the same year called “Vienna Calling”.

 

Wolf Morrison became more and more interested in directing. He read Robert Rodriguez book “Rebel without a Crew” and also learned from Scott Shaw’s Homepage how to make a film with a small budget and an even smaller crew.

 

In 2007 Wolf wrote, produced, directed and starred in his debut as a director “Wild Rebel” and also composed the Soundtrack. The film had its premiere in April 2008 and was not very successful but sold well on DVD. Morrison still calls it his “first and worst film”. But first-time filmmakers are allowed to make mistakes and to learn from them.

 

So Wolf decided that his next film should just be fun: fun to write the script, fun to shoot and fun for the audience. “Vampire City (aka Vampire City I – Rock’ N Roll Vampires from Hell)” was filmed 2008 and released on March 13 2009 (a Friday the 13^th ). It became a small success on the Independent Film Scene and was his first film that also had a theatrical premiere in the USA at the Troma Dance Film Festival in Indiana in Spring 2009.

 

The sequel “Vampire City 2: Rock’ N Roll Zombies from Outer Space” was just big fun. Filmed in summer 2009 as a tribute to Ed Woods “Plan 9 from Outer Space” including a Tor Johnson-look-a-like as Chief (!) Inspector Clay and a Vampira-look-a-like. That was also the first film he made under the pseudonym Robert Tarantino.

 

The film premiered on Halloween October 31 2009 and was a huge success for a No Budget Film. The film was officially selected for the Underground Horror Film Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA and was screened there on July 10 2010. The film was such an success there that Wolf Morrison was offered to direct a film in the USA by the festival director. However, this did not work out du to time constraints.

 

Both films were also edited into short films: “Vampires in Vienna” was the short film version of “Vampire City” and “Plan 666 from Outer Space”, released in 2010 was the short film version of “Vampire City 2”.

 

2010 was the year when Wolf Morrison decided to re-animate his music career so he made many live appearances this year and didn’t film until 2011. But in 2010 he wrote the script for his next film.

 

2010 Wolf also met Filmmaker Houchang Allahyari (I love Vienna) who made him an offer he couldn’t refuse: He lent him his professional equipment and also a cameraman for his next film and Allahyari was allowed to film how Morrison was filming his next film “Blood City Massacre”, which he again made under the pseudonym Robert Tarantino.

 

Wolf agreed and so Allahyari and a camera man followed him in 2011 from the pre-production, the casting of his actors, the filming, to the successful pre-premiere of the film. Houchang Allahyari also made interviews with the cast members, filmed Morrison’s stage appearances as a Musician and also an appearance as a Comedian.

 

“Blood City Massacre” premiered in November 2011. A short film version also exists under the title “Mad Dog Crady”. The ultra-short version (12 minutes)  “Massacre in Vienna” was very successful and made it to the Fright Nights Film Festival in Vienna where it had its premiere on November 18 2012 and was also invited to the the Fallbreak Festival in Verona, Italy.

The best thing on “Blood City Massacre” was that Wolf Morrison met actress Julia Prock-Schauer on the set. He was so impressed from her acting skills that he offered her the lead role for his next film.

 

“Lost in Vienna, Austria” was filmed between July and October 2012 and is an homage to the films of David Lynch. This time he made it perfect.

 

The perfect cast, the perfect crew, the perfect script. The film is also dedicated to a girlfriend who committed suicide a few years ago. Each scene was composed in its own style and colour. The sad scenes were filmed in a cold blue tone while the happy ones were filmed in bright and shiny colours. The fantastic actress Julia Prock-Schauer played the lead role, the sensitive Julie and also her femme-fatale twin sister Karen. And Vanessa Newton, Vienna’s most famous Domina, has a guest appearance as Pop Diva Chrissie Ears.

The film premiered on June 4 2013 at the Haydn Kino in Vienna and on June 25 2013 in the USA.

 

The documentary from Houchang Allayhari “Robert Tarantino - Rebel Without A Crew” had its premiere on March 13 at the Diagonale in Graz and its theatrical release on September 6 2013.

In Summer 2014 Wolf Morrison was invited to lead a Filmworkshop in Innsbruck in Tyrol. Together with his group they made the funny Trashfilm "Bloody Easter" aka "Blutige Ostern". The Film was invited to the Tyrolian Independent Film Festival in October and in November to the A Los Gurkos Short Film Festival in Innsbruck and the Fallbreak Festival in Verona, Italy where it won the 1st price in the category "Inferno".

 

In 2016  his new film "Paranormal Shades", a mixture between "Fifty Shades of Grey" und "Paranormal Activity" had its theatrical premiere. More infos here at www.paranormal-shades.com.

 

After "Satan' Girls" in 2017 he made the decision to make a documentary. "The Sound of Alicia Edelweiss" is a documentary about a young and passionate musician and performance artist who calls herself Alicia Edelweiss.

Wolf Morrison wurde am 4. Mai 1977 in Melk in Niederösterreich geboren. Nach der Handelsschule und einigen unbefriedigenden Bürojobs zog er 2003 nach Wien, um Künstler zu werden. Wolf nahm Schauspielunterricht, um seine Schüchternheit zu überwinden. Gitarre und Keyboard spielen hatte er schon früher erlernt.

 

Im November 2005 kamen dann seine ersten richtigen Bühnenauftritte, zunächst als Kabarettist mit dem Programm „Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Hirn erobert Amerika“ (das er bis 2007 spielte) und dann auch als Singer/Songwriter mit eigenen Liedern.

 

Im selben Jahr lernte Wolf auch den Drehbuchautor und Regisseur Wolfgang Brandstetter kennen, der ihm eine kleine Rolle in seinem Independent Film „Winter“ gab und dann auch im unveröffentlichten Serienpilot „Vienna Calling“, einer nie realisierten TV Serie.

 

Wolf Morrison begann sich immer mehr fürs Regieführen zu interessieren. Er las Robert Rodriguez’ Buch „Rebel without a Crew“, indem dieser schilderte, wie er seinen ersten Film realisierte, indem er selbst die alleinige Crew war. Dann las er auf Scott Shaw’s Homepage, wie dieser ebenfalls Filme drehte mit einer minimalen Crew (2 Personen). Dies spornte seinen Ehrgeiz an.

 

Im Sommer 2007 begann der Dreh zu seinen Regiedebüt „Wild Rebel“, bei dem Wolf Morrison zugleich auch als Drehbuchautor, Produzent, Komponist und Hauptdarsteller fungierte. Der Film feierte im April 2008 seine Premiere und war kein großer Erfolg, verkaufte sich jedoch gut auf DVD. Es war sein „first and worst film“ (sein erster und schlechtester Film). Doch Regiedebütanten dürfen Fehler machen, wenn sie daraus lernen.

 

So entschloss Wolf sich, dass sein nächstes Projekt einfach nur Spaß machen sollte, Spaß beim Drehbuch schreiben, beim Drehen und Spaß für das Publikum bei der Kinovorführung.

 

Die Horrorfilm-Parodie „Vampire City“ (auch bekannt unter dem Titel „Vampire City I – Rock’ N Roll Vampires from Hell“), gedreht 2008, feierte am Freitag den 13. März 2009 seine Kinopremiere und war ein kleiner Erfolg in der Underground Szene.

 

Es war auch sein erster Film, der in den USA gezeigt wurde, beim Troma Dance Film Festival in Indiana im Herbst 2009.

 

Überwältigt von Erfolg und Zuspruch des Publikums begannen bereits im Sommer 2009 die Dreharbeiten zu „Vampire City 2: Rock’ N Roll Zombies from Outer Space“, einer Parodie und gleichzeitig auch Hommage an Ed Wood’s “Plan 9 from Outer Space” mit einem Tor-Johnson Double als Chief Inspector Clay und einem Vampira-Double. Dies war auch der 1. Film, den er unter dem Pseudonym Robert Tarantino drehte.

 

Der Film feierte seine Kinopremiere zu Halloween, am 31. Oktober 2009 und war ein großer Erfolg für eine No-Budget Produktion. „Vampire City 2“ kam in die offizielle Auswahl des Underground Horror Film Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA und wurde dort mit großem Erfolg am 10. Juli 2010 gezeigt. Der Veranstalter des Festivals war von dem Film derart begeistert, dass er Wolf Morrison anbot, die Regie bei einem Film in den USA zu übernehmen, was sich jedoch aus terminlichen Gründen nicht ausging.

 

Von beiden Filmen existieren auch Kurzfilmfassungen: „Vampire City“ wurde zu „Vampires in Vienna“ und „Vampire City 2“ wurde zu „Plan 666 from Outer Space“, Premiere war 2010.

 

2010 war auch das Jahr, in dem Wolf Morrison beschloss, seine Musikkarriere wieder anzukurbeln. Wolf schrieb nicht nur englischsprachige Songs, sondern auch eine Reihe von Dialekt-Liedern im Stil von Georg Danzer und Ludwig Hirsch. In diesem Jahr hatte er eine Reihe von Konzertauftritten und drehte keinen Film bis 2011. Allerdings schrieb Wolf 2010 das Drehbuch zu seinem nächsten Film.

 

Ende 2010 lernte Wolf Morrison den Filmemacher Houchang Allahyari (I love Vienna) kennen, der ihm ein Angebot machte, dass er nicht ablehnen konnte: Allahyari würde ihm sein professionelles Equipment leihen sowie einen Kameramann zur Verfügung stellen, wenn er ihm im Gegenzug bei der Entstehung seines nächsten Filmprojektes „Blood City Massacre“ filmen durfte.

 

Morrison stimmte zu und so folgten ihm Allahyari und sein Kameramann von der Vorproduktion über das Casting, dem Filmdreh bishin zur erfolgreichen Vor-Premiere des Filmes „Blood City Massacre“. Sie machten auch Interviews mit den Darstellern des Filmes, die größtenteils Laien waren und folgten Morrison bei seinen Auftritten als Musiker und auch als Kabarettist.

 

“Blood City Massacre” feierte am 11. November 2011 seine Kinopremiere. Von dem Film existiert auch eine Kurzfilmfassung unter dem Titel “Mad Dog Crady”. Die Ultrakurz-Version (12 Minuten) “Massacre in Vienna”  lief beim Fright Nights Film Festival in Wien. Die Premiere fand im Rahmen des Festivals am 18. November 2012 im Hollywood Megaplex im Gasometer statt und “Massacre in Vienna” wurde später auch zum Fallbreak Festival in Verona, Italien eingeladen.

Das Beste an „Blood City Massacre“ war, dass Wolf Morrison beim Dreh die junge Schauspielerin Julia Prock-Schauer kennen lernte, deren Spiel ihn derart beeindruckte, dass er ihr spontan die Hauptrolle in seinem neuen Film anbot.

 

Dieser Film „Lost in Vienna, Austria“ wurde zwischen Juli und Oktober 2012 gedreht und ist eine Hommage an die Filme von David Lynch. Bei diesem Film stimmt endlich alles: die perfekten Darsteller, die perfekte Crew, das perfekte Drehbuch.

 

Der Film ist einer Freundin gewidmet, die vor Jahren Selbstmord beging. Jede Szene wurde durchkomponiert in einem eigenen Stil und eigener Farbdramaturgie. Die traurigen Szenen sind in einem kühl-distanzierten Blau-Ton gehalten, während die wenigen fröhlichen Szenen in leuchtenden warmen Farben gedreht wurden. Die großartige Schauspielerin Julia Prock-Schauer spielt die Hauptrolle, die scheue, sensible Julie sowie deren Zwillingsschwester Karen, eine richtige Femme Fatale. Ebenfalls erwähnenswert: Vanessa Newton, Wien’s bekannteste Domina, spielt in dem Film eine Gastrolle, die Pop Diva Chrissie Ears.

„Lost in Vienna, Austria“ hatte am 4. Juni 2013 im Haydn Kino seine Premiere in Wien und am 25. Juni 2013 in den USA.

 

Die Dokumentation  „Robert Tarantino - Rebel Without A Crew“ von Houchang Allahyari feierte am 13. März 2013 auf der Diagonale in Graz seine Premiere und startete in den Kinos in Wien, Graz und Tirol am 6. September 2013.

 

 

"COLD", die Kurzfilm Version von "Lost in Vienna, Austria", feierte seine Premiere am 8. Mai 2014 online auf Youtube. Man kann den Film auch hier online ansehen, indem man einfach die Seite "COLD Full Movie" ansteuert.
